Dr. Bob Peters Retires from KTBB?Tyler

The legendary Robert Kingsley Peters, III, PhD., hung his headphones up for the last time at KTBB yesterday afternoon. He has been a staple of Tyler and East Texas weather for 54 years. Dr. Bob was directly responsible for my keen interest in the weather over the years. Like the late, great Paul Harvey, there will not be another Dr. Bob.

According to a KTBB.com article, he will continue to provide weather for their website.

The man more than deserves to enjoy his semi-retirement. He will certainly be missed, though.

Indeed.....and has been for years.

Sadly, though, AM600 is only mentioned during a legal ID. The FM simulcast on 97.5 has taken top billing and promotion.

Agreed on both accounts.

I can hear AM600 here in Dallas on a regular basis. In fact, I'll flip over just to see what's going on in my beloved homeland (provided the interference from electrical utility lines is tolerable).
