Dr. Demento Discontinuing Terrestrial Radio Show

From Dr. Demento's website:

"Dr. Demento and his management have decided to no longer offer The Dr. Demento Show on terrestrial radio stations and to concentrate on offering the show via internet streaming only at http://www.drdemento.com/online.html .
There will be one more Dr Demento Show, broadcast through the airwaves next weekend June 5th/6th 2010."

I'm posting this to the Columbus board, because, based on the half dozen radio affiliates currently listed on the Dr. Demento website, it appears that QFM96 is the largest of them all.

I think we will find other syndicated shows making themselves available to Internet Radio stations in the future. Seems to be where the listeners are going, so it is understandable that the shows with their sponsors will want to go where the listeners ears are. Of course, I don't expect this to happen overnight either.

Terrestrial Radio is rapidly becoming the sole domain of Talk/Hate Radio and the Bible-Thumpers.
I guess my radios can be used as bookends, or to jack up my car. :(

Yup. Prepare to be flamed by people who like it that way but deny it's true.

When those pesky electronic circuits are discarded, the outer cases of most portable or table models make swell containers for fish heads.

Stay Deeemented.

"....fish heads, fish heads, roly-poly fish heads..."

(Had to throw that one in at the spur of the moment gang!)

Remembered the demented doc on Sunday evenings on the old WBLY-FM in Springfield and WFBQ in Indy back in the late 70s when Westwood One distributed the show....before it got bigger and decided the doc was not part of their future plans to suck up Mutual and NBC Radio.
