Dr. Don Rose KFRC/KTZO TV 20 Simulcast (11/30/1982)

This is one of a rare cases where the then popular radio of Dr. Don Rose one of his radio shows air on TV on KTZO-TV 20.

Note this is one of several examples where KTZO partnered with KFRC 610 for certain segments. The other notable one was when KFRC and WCBS-FM host Bill Lee did a Dance Party episode on TV 20.

With a few notable exceptions, all YouTube examples of why DJ's should never try the transition to TV. The old 'face for radio' comes to mind.

I always thought the late Don Rosenberg had a very pleasant face. A bit comical, which suited his personality.

For some reason I can't recall anymore, I emailed Dr. Don. Probably a couple decades or so ago. It was something informational, so I wasn't expecting any response. But he wrote back a very nice, very gracious reply. Left me really impressed.

That sure sounds like him. :)

He overcame a lot - a heart surgery that turned out badly, knee infections, breaking his leg and then having it amputated, and having a heart attack on the air that led to him retiring from being on air:

I always wondered what he did after he retired from radio.

He and Kay moved to Phoenix for just under a decade---managed an apartment building he bought. He told me the story when I met him. They moved back to the Bay Area around '95-'96 to be closer to family.
