Dr. Dre - I Need A Doctor - Thoughts?

There is usually just a couple songs on the pop chart I can't stand and wonder how it can do so well in a CHR audience. Dr. Dre's I Need A Doctor is horrible. I just either turn the radio off or change the station when I hear it. Do people actually enjoy this song?

I was looking for a more specific answer than just Yes. And wait a second, I just looked at AT 40's chart and the song is not even on the chart. In my opinion, I don't like this song but I'm just a listener. It doesn't fit a CHR station well at all - more Rhythmic or Urban.

It's all over here, but it's Detroit, so you can imagine why.
As for the song itself, I like it. I remember hearing it the first time and thinking DAYUM, Dre is back?

Then I guess it's like trying to like this menu item on Claim Jumper's:

Tilapia Bianca*
Pan seared tilapia topped with artichoke hearts & sautéed shrimp in a sherry cream sauce 16.99

Acquired taste def.

Power 106 is giving it mad spins.

Well of course. This sound is right up their alley. I think this song is alright. As usual, it's Eminem that mostly helps to make the song everything that it is. As for me, it's just another song on top 40 that reminds me that I'm not getting any younger... However, J-Lo, Enrique Iglesias, and Britney are topping the top 40 charts, so I guess I am just as "in" now as I was back during my last year of high school in 1999! It's like a generation that was so great it was allowed to come back!

This is one of my favorite new songs. It's the female vocalist who sings the "I need a doctor" hook that makes this song special to me. Who is she?

Skylar Grey, who is also in Diddy-Dirty-Money's "I'm Coming Home"

I like that song too and once again she is my favorite part of it. Thanks for the info.

One thing I do notice is the structure of the entire production of this song. After the massive success of "love the way you lie", someone figured if they released another song with the same structure (but with a different melodic arrangement), it may gain the same, or close to the same amount of success as the first song did. Listen to "I need a doctor" and notice how many similarities exist in the production beat pattern, style, structure, and arrangement. Also notice the style of rapping, arrangement of verses, and the chorus. Same set up structure, but with a different chorus singer and third verse rapper. It's too bad that despite the fact that the overall production structure of "I need a doctor" was similar to "love the way you lie", it didn't do as well or even cross over into urban (even with Dr Dre in it), the same way "love the way you lie" did.

This is not the first time someone has used similar production structures in a second single to what was created in their fist highly successful single...
