I saw the post from Scott Woodside asking the whereabouts of former Atlanta radio greats. Dr. John Long is living on the Georgia coast. His web site is www.oidar.com. The raw deal that he got from Cox Radio/Fox 97 back in 2001 was just wrong. Dr. John Long has really put in his dues to Georgia Radio over the years.

John Long was a key figure in top-40 radio. Among other positions, he was a very successful program director of RKO's WHBQ in Memphis and oversaw its execution of the Drake format.

Hey Goodtimes
What did John do at Fox97?
I don't remember him from that station

When Cox first bought the station around 2000, he was hired to do evenings. The program director was Michael Kay.
