Dr. Laura is done. What will Fox Talk, and other Talk stations around Texas do?

Her show had been bouncing around in Lubbock anyway. First on KFYO, doing the Rush/Laura Clear Channel thing. Then a swap with Hannity sent her to Fox Talk. Then from mornings (the time her show orignates in LA) to a live slot int he afternoons. Then to late afternoons, and almost off the radar screen. Her show had been becoming stale in my opinion, good adivce but little more than a series of strung to gether phone call-ins.

So what will Fox Talk fill the slot with? My guess is, they could put toenail clipper spots in there and nobody would notice :)

I was thinking of a 400 Hz tone, but that is just me..... ;D

Dr. Laura is still on the radio? I had no idea. KLVI dropped her years ago for the lunatic Glenn Beck.

Dr. Laura is/was a minor star in the talk radio universe. There are dozens of others who, I think, have better and more interesting shows. I like her personally, but I think the controversy she caused is far out of proportion to her importance in the big scheme of things.

Don't worry about her affiliate stations. When her contract is up, and her show goes away, all her affiliates will have another syndicated talker signed up and ready to plug into her time slot. They won't even miss a beat.

That, and rebroadcasting a Van Goh art exhibit would probably get more ratings!

Dr. Laura is like Dave Ramsey. Once you've heard her act for a week, you've heard it all. The only difference is Ramsey seems sincere. But he could run best-ofs for a month and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Yes, but at leat Ramsey gives an actual opinion, a running theme. Dr. Laura could string to gether 8 or 9 pre recorded phone calls, put her feet up on the control board, and you'd never know. One call never has anything to do with the next. No running theme, perhaps maybe an opening statement or remark but that was it. A caveman could do it, and certainly a monkey.
