Dr. Laura is gone again ...

Why did the Word take her off the air? She was on for two hours a day - taped delayed, of course, and many times, snippets of the show would be cut out for some reason. It was annoying, but at least she was on the air ...

Darn, I was wanting to call with my problems on national radio so she could berate me & tell me how stupid I am. Good riddance.

I'm sure some of her content was too "steamy" for the conservative, religious "Word." It was probably more trouble than it was worth, trying to edit the show on the fly. Her usual rants against gays and women who got mysteriously 'knocked up' and store owners who left nudie magazines on low shelves were probably too racy...plus, doing those endless, shameless self-promotions of her books, newsletters, and other wares...AND those relentless and sickening on-air lovefests with her son Deryk...sheesh. I never understood why Word picked up her show, anyway.

DR. Laura comes to 105.3.....Weekdays 12:00 pm/3:00pm.....

Yeah I'd rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than listen to her talking trash.

At least the fingernails would sound like the last grooves of the Sgt. Pepper album, where they added the 15 khz tone so your dog would start barking. The Beatles were great jokers.

That must be a joke about 105.3. : )

And no, she doesn't bash gays anymore. I think she's been told not to.

As for the berating ... well, she's got to get a lot of calls in and the people who call in ARE stupid, for the most part. They go on about superfluous details and can't get down to the nitty gritty. The majority of her callers are whiny (much like some of you! HA!)

STFU!!! Dr. Toni would work better, IMHO.

But wait! I drank a bunch earlier so nevermind... ;)

I'm not whiny! Really, I am not! I swear I am not whiny!!!

I'm cheesy, damnit! :D

;D

The formula to be a successful radio shrink is to rip into anyone who calls, hang up on them quickly & get to more callers to belittle.

I agree people are beyond stupid for calling in to her show. Or listening for that matter.

I never understood why people turned to Dr Laura for personal advice to start with. At the top of my reasons is that was she was estranged from her own mother. That doesn't exactly have peacemaker written all over it. And when her mother died she publicly blamed her totally for the impasse.

Dr. Laura is the radio equivelent of Jerry Springer meets Joe Pine, you get freaks and nuts from the sticks getting yelled at by a so-called expert. To me, its like the white trash equivelent of opera.

Well, despite what anyone might think about her ... and I'll agree, she makes life seem like everything is in black and white, but there is a lot of gray in the world ... she has some good advice ... mainly that we're all too selfish. She gives blunt ways on how to improve our lives and care for others. She's harsh with callers because everyone's a "victim" and no one really takes responsibility for their own actions. Hmm. We're all like that, but most don't want to (or are afraid to) admit it.

As for her books, what radio talkshow host DOESN'T push their books? You'd be a fool not too ... especially if thousands, if not millions are listening. C'mon now, don't be stupid. And her books are common sense in a world that's based on "me, me, me." Hmm. What a concept.

Yes. The woman has a past, but we're all human and we're all hypocrites, if you get right down to it.

LMAO...shit that was funny!!

I listened a few times. Mostly because I drive all over north and east Texas and sometimes 100.7 was one of the few stations I could get in. Like Bumbershoot said, Dr. Laura is all about giving common sense advice to people who have ceased to be rational. What gets me is that she, Dr. Phil, and all the other advice show-type people had to get doctorate degrees to give this advice which mostly amounts to looking at things from a rational viewpoint or looking at a situation from someone else's point of view. I have a BA in Psychology and I could do the same damn thing.

I looked at her website and I saw she is now on from 11 to 1 on KSKY, as HelloRadio said. But then I noticed that's 11PM to 1AM.
