Dr. Laura on WORD?

Did she clean up her language any? Last I heard her, she'd occasionally throw a "hell" or "damn" in there. Don't think Salem would want that on their airwaves, would they?

Dave Ramsey on KLIF? Wow! That would be a big upgrade for him and kind of a slap in the face to Dr. Laura. Laura starts Thursday on 100.7 so I guess we will see what KLIF does then.

Why is that a slap in the face to Dr. Laura? Because she did her stage show in DFW last year? As an operator, Salem would be better for her to please.

I think it's amusing how they cut Glenn Beck down to two hours, probably because "he doesn't talk about politics enough"... typical reason for stations blowing off his show. Of course, they add a guy who talks nothing about politics. And while I must admit I enjoy his show from time to time, I find the whole schtick a bit arrogant and find it somewhat troubling that an overtly religious program would be wiggling onto so many mainstream stations.

Where was Dave Ramsey on before this? I thought he was on KSKY, but I guess not (maybe I'm thinking of Salem's KNTH in Houston)... seems odd he wouldn't have been on somewhere in the market.

It's a slap in the face because she continues her trend down-market. KRLD > KLIF > KWRD > ? ? ? ?.

I don't think you really know why they cut back on Beck, do you? Glenn Beck is my favorite program on KLIF, so I am sad to see it cut down.

I too find Dave a little arrogant at times, but why exactly do find it "somewhat troubling" that he is on mainstream stations? You do realize that he started off on WWTN-FM in Nashville which is NOT religious. Why are you a Godphobe? If you don't like it, change the station.

Dave Ramsey has been on KWRD from 2-4 PM and KSKY from 11 PM -12 AM.

Keep in mind Dave Ramsey's flagship is Cumulus's WWTN in Nashville and all 3 of his new affiliates are *drum roll please* Cumulus stations. According to AllAccess this was all part of Ramsey's contract negotiations.

Even though I'm no fan of Dr. Laura this move looks like it has more to do with corporate politics than it does ratings.

That and well, she doesn't really fit KLIF's target demo. How many wealthy, middle-aged men do you know who sit around "discussing their feelings?"

Well, I'd think more wealthy men would be discussing their feelings than bottom-dwellers listening to some rock station at 45...

Nevertheless, how much time will pass before everyone realizes that Dave Ramsey's show is all about his failure to manage money and how the rest of us are as stupid as he is and can't leverage a house or two? Maybe he should realize that it's not the system, it's him.

I'm not a Godphobe, but I do believe there's a reason religious stations are usually conspicuously absent from ratings, or why Salem buys the book for its bottom-dwelling N/Ters but not for its Christian teaching stations. The listenership of those, despite having some excellent sticks, is pathetic, and its just a form of arrogance and oneupmanship on behalf of the preachers buying time. Therefore, how about we keep the Bible talk to the unrated stations?
