More changes as they tweak the station. At least No-Static sports is cut to an hour. One hour down and one to go.

It's nice to see the news block added. I love hearing news without having to sit through ranting by talk show hosts.

Dr. Sledgehammer in stereo...Whoo Hoo! The scoldings will sound clearer.
 
I'm glad to see the afternoon news return as well, KMJ should have never removed it in the first place.
With 4 talk stations it would be great if one was more like KCBS and KNX and concentrate on NEWS and less on just TALK.

Fresno is a mid-size market experiencing layoffs left and right.
How could any radio group justify a KNX-style all local news format?
It's nothing more than a dream, because a format like that is VERY costly.
Besides:

1. Is there really that much news?
2. All news format won't bring big ratings.
3. Talented news people cost $$.

As for the tweaked lineup on KMJ FM - It's no big deal. The sound & product is fairly solid.
KYNO is a trainwreck. They're adding Fresno Bee writers in place of Dr. Laura? Clever.
There is a reason they "write" for a living. Besides, is it really smart to invest time & sweat into developing
personalities that can't help save a dying newspaper? Has anyone seen McClatchy's $$ figures lately? It ain't pretty.

When I said that it would be great for a News/Talk station to be MORE like KNX I didn't mean 24/7, I was referring to the days KMJ had a 4 hour morning block of NEWS , a one hour at noon and a 3 hour block during the afternoon drive.
 
I can't stand Dr. Laura! She is on in just about every market. What is so great about her??? I can't stand the way she belittles her callers. And she is such a hypocrite too! Why do people take advice from someone who herself has not spoken a word to her own mother in ten years time??? Personally, I think she is c*** :mad:
 
Dr Laura's mother died in 2002, the victim of an apparent homocide...so no, she hasn't spoken to her mother in a number of years.
 
I read the story. Thanks for sending that article. That is a terrible thing. I heard she has not spoke for ten years time when her mother was alive. Dr. Laura posing nude too??? I have listened to her show and she is just a rude lady. I just turn change the station immeadiately when I hear that annoying voice. :mad:
 
Well then KENRAYC, you should have said "like an old version of KMJ" rather than KNX.
And my thoughts on that remain the same; there just isn't that much news in Fresno to warrant giant news blocks.
Dr. Laura is fantastic! There is a reason she is ranked one of the top-rated talkers in the country every year.
