Apparently WTDA (talkfm103.9) has decided to fill their 1 -4pm slot with Dr. Laura....this is a disappointing decision...while I understand they really couldnt continue with the tape delayed Steve Czaban show off of the FSR bird; I really thought they could come up with a better choice than this....I was really liking the identity of the new format and even thought they could go the way of not all sports talk, but what some markets have called "guy talk". Just seems to me that Dr. Laura is an odd fit...
 
Her show isn't as entertaining as it used to be. Laura has become even more moralistic than before. Years ago, you could enjoy the banter between Laura and some out-of-whack caller whose life is a train wreck. There seem to be less crying frantic train wrecks on the show for her to argue with, and more Laura monologues on what she beleives is right. Her show is gonig the same way as Bruce Williams - less advice and fewer callers and more chit-chat from the host on whatever pops into their head. Too bad. YOu may not have agreed with Laura before, but she was at least entertaining with the "white trash follies" parade of callers.

I used to work in Marion way back when and we ran Dr Laura at the time.. She used to have some of the craziest callers and she'd go hardcore into some of them for their problems, it was an interesting listen then she kinda really toned down her aggression and it became less interesting to listen to.
