Dr. Oz Making a Move in Houston This Fall?

With KPRC's recent additions (Jeff Probst, Ricki Lake) to it's daytime lineup this fall, where would the Dr. Oz Show be placed? Could he be moving to KRIV this September? Or another station? We all know Ellen isn't going anywhere.

ABC-13 (KTRK) could be interested in carrying Dr. OZ since his show has been pretty hot so far. His daughter, Daphne is one of the hosts of the cooking show, "The Chew". Also, FOX-26 was originally planned to carry Dr. OZ in the first place since it debuted 4 years ago, now has a bigger success with "Judge Judy", a late afternoon courtroom drama show.

It is on KTBC Channel 7 Fox, in Austin.

San Antonio carries it on WOAI at an earlier time.

If Houston carries it, the show will be on KRIV, KIAH, KTXH, or KPRC.

I doubt it if Dr. Oz will be on KTRK.

It's always possible one of the shows could end up in the overnight hours if the producers were desperate for a clearance in Houston, though that's prolly not the case here. If anyone picks up Oz, it'll almost certainly be KRIV. He's on Fox O&Os in a bunch of markets.

Looks like Dr. OZ is staying put over at KPRC, and it looks like "Ellen" is the odd show out over at Local 2.

I think "Ellen" will be good a good fit for KHOU-11 before their 4 o'clock news; Sister stations KENS-TV & K-VUE also carry "Ellen" as well. Ellen happens to be a high-profile daytime talker as well as Dr. Oz; I don't think "The Doctors" don't have a high-profile like Dr Phil has.

First off, I haven't seen a source yet to believe other than a "word".

Second, isn't Ellen on most NBC affiliates throughout most of the country and especially all of the top 10 markets? Same question with The Doctors on CBS affiliates in those same markets? Houston is number 10 in the top 10 markets. So sounds to me like both shows are in the right place.

Group owners will often make group purchases of programs. But that's as far as it goes. Individual deals are struck all over the board.

I heard a radio commercial today promoting KUBE 57. Among other things, it stated "The Doctors" were moving to the KUBE. This lends itself to confirming the rumors that it is leaving KHOU and possibly being replaced by Ellen since she is losing her time slot to Jeff Probst over at KPRC.

KPRC changes the 12pm to 3pm slots every 6 to 8 months The Ellen show has the best ratings of there afternoon line up and there getting rid of it why?? Just dump the lame DR OZ show his show is only to promote heathly productions on his show that is how he makes his money

KPRC made so many stupid decisions regarding their fall lineup. Why did they pick up Ricki Lake instead of Steve Harvey's new daytime show? I read on an article she was picked up by most Fox and Tribune stations. What other Post-Newsweek station picked her up? Seems as though they were the only one.

KPRC's sister Indie Jacksonville station WJXT plans to carry "The Ricki Lake Show". KPRC has penciled in 12 noon as Ricki's start time, which is currently held by the Now-cancelled "Nate Berkus Show"

I just got the word from KHOU that "Ellen" is coming over to Channel 11 starting September 3rd. Mark it down, folks.
