Dr. Pepper radio ad

@ b-turner
The wife here, despite the Irish surname (and in fact her maiden name) was raised in the Lutheran faith. So partly as a result of that vast difference in religions (kidding, of course) I get the ribbing from her when we're shopping: 'Figures. More of that Catholic soda you always buy.'
But I've actually been an RC drinker since the days when it was sold in six-sided green-glass 12-ounce bottles. They say a cherry RC cola is out there, but I never saw any.

Semi-related: WASL 100.1/WTRO 1450/WTNV 97.3 in Dyersburg, TN are owned by Burks Broadcasting, who also owns Burks Beverage, the local Dr. Pepper/Pepsi distributor. You'll hear plenty Dr. Pepper and Pepsi ads, but you will never hear an ad for Coke.

Also, the caffeine amount for soft drinks will usually be in the nutrition values on the can or bottle.

Here is the answer to the quiz. When Dr. Pepper was first sold in New York, its slogan was " You gotta be good to make it in New York....and Dr. Pepper's making it good!"......Speaking of making it good in New York...HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY to Willie Randolph. For the uninitiated, Randolph grew up in Brooklyn and was the Yankees' second baseman for 13 years. He finished his playing career with the 1992 Mets. He was then the Yankees' third base coach for 11 years. He then served three-and-a-half seasons as the Mets' manager until his untimely dismissal in the middle of the night, while the team was on a west-coast trip.
