Dr. Phil is coming back…

A cable network? Did Dr. Phil wake up this morning in 2012?
He must’ve. The biggest problem is he’s targeting the channel towards a conservative audience with news and lifestyle programs, so he’s got his work cut out for him. Will they watch? Probably, but if they like the offerings he plans to feature on the network.

Dr. Phil Primetime will stay close to the format of McGraw’s daytime show, with him continuing to offer no-nonsense advice in addition to conducting interviews with headline makers.
Will he also be pushing quack cures and snake oil remedies to his viewers again, and trying to fleece them for $$ to buy stuff that's questionable at best, unethical at worst? Well, doing that kind of thing has worked out OK financially for Alex Jones, I guess.

Okay, I guess we now know where Dr. Oz will be airing.

(Assuming he doesn't intend to move to Delaware to run for Senate.)

Yes I know what you mean I doubt major TV Providers like, Dish, DirecTV, Comcast and Spectrum are going to carry this new Dr. Phil Network. Well does Dr. Phil mean carriage contracts with TV apps like Fubo, PlutoTV, Tubi, Roku, Freevee and Samsung TV carrying his production company.

Can't wait to ask him "how's that workin' for ya?" after a few months.
Yes also how much of this is about Dr. Phil using the "Connections to Oprah Winfrey" card? Oprah launched a cable network via Discovery Networks in 2011 when TV Apps were not widely known as it is today. Now that network that uses the rights to the Oprah name is under the Max App by WB.

Dr. Phil needs to consider other factors on where is current audience is at.

Mirroring Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil McGraw is launching his own cable network, Media Street Media, which is designed to “bring viewers essential news and entertainment.” Oprah, who created the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in 2011, introduced McGraw to the masses as a relationship and life strategy expert on her eponymous syndicated daytime talker in 1998. Merit Street Media will be anchored by Dr. Phil Primetime, which will debut on Monday, February 26th, 2024, and will air nightly at 8 pm ET. Similar to his former daytime talk show, which ran in first-run syndication from 2002 to 2023, Dr. Phil Primetime will feature McGraw advising guests facing real life issues.

And that answers the question for who his target audience will be -- the same people who buy nutritional supplements from Alex Jones or gold from the right-wing cable news channels. In a way, I suppose that actually makes sense, because I suspect that his target audience is going to be elderly conservative viewers who will keep their cable subscriptions to the very end.

Gutsy move. Dr. Phil obviously has the data saying this project will work. Looking forward to following this story

I thought that was more a description of Dr. Oz than Dr. Phil.

The Dr. Phil show is in reruns this season.
