Dr. Phil signs TV deal for 'Envoy TV' with Charter

Well, Envoy FAST is growing quickly.... now added to Samsung TV Plus (channel 2977). Today's programming has been reruns of the old syndicated Dr.Phil shows, and a program called 'Face The Truth', a similar Dr.Phil type of show with 5 women as hosts.
Is Face the Truth kind of like The View, or not?

Did you watch it?
Yes, for a few minutes. It's lame. They put a young club DJ in the hot seat with mom confronting him about his habit of excessive pot smoking , and one panelist (a judge) demanding he take a drug test to prove he hasn't smoked in 60 days, and was refusing. I think at the end the guest has to abide by the resolution decided by the panelist and voted on by the audience.

I hate this kind of crap television. But, at least I satisfied my curiosity about it

Dr. Phil envisions Envoy to be a source for fair, balanced news using 'citizen' journalists and reporters that will also cover breaking news. Sounds like it should be called the Tik Tok News Channel.

User Mark W advised on another board the FrndlyTV has a Black Friday special with service for 99 cents a month for three months. EnvoyTV is carried there. I grabbed the deal and tuned in last night. Dr. Phil is airing current versions of his 'Real Stories' program. When the bankruptcy is over with MeritTV, I hope the TCL Boxing League that aired there finds a home on Envoy or another accessible platform.

If marijuana is pretty much legal now everywhere why is that even controversial for a show like that? Are these actors going on this show like jerry springer use to have or the judge judy type shows?

Talk about an odd programming choice for Envoy TV, along with Dr. Phil reruns, they now show "Team Boxing League" matches.
TBL was on Merit TV and apparently Dr. Phil was able to get them to switch.

It really is an interesting concept in making boxing a team sport. Each match has boxers from the various weight classes go one round against the other team. A creative way to try to make boxing more broadcast friendly.
