Dr. Sam Pollock Amateur Radio Hour

There are several contrasting matters in the website and the photo that are referred to. The only mentions I have ever heard about Dr. Samuel Pollack were short radio commercials for his dental practice in the early-to-mid-1960's on WCPO Radio - 1230-AM (and 105.1-FM). I was not aware of any amateur show he may have been on or sponsored in years before that although it appears such a show took place as per the article.

The photo shows a WKRC-TV camera and apparent set. The studios for WKRC-TV in its early years were in the Times-Star Building at 800 Broadway in Cincinnati (which was also where WKRC Radio 550-AM and WCTS - which later became WKRC-FM - 101.9-FM) were located for some time. The Sinton Hotel on Fourth Street was where WSAI Radio - 1360-AM had its studios for many years until they moved to West 8th Street & Matson Place in the early 1960's. The Daryl Parks shown in the photo is probably best remembered for doing the weather on WKRC-TV although he was later on WKRC-AM where did the University of Cincinnati football & basketball games from 1964 to 1970. He is not related to the person who is now on WLW. This "Daryl Parks" never married, had no children and lived in the Kenwood area until his death in 2005.
