Dragway music bed

Does anyone know the name of music that was looped to make the that intense dragway music bed from the seventies?

It is some track by Iron Maiden. I am not a fan of their music so I can't say what track. One of my buddies in college put together a mock "Sundaaayyy..." promo ad and he knew what Maiden tune it came from.

if it was in the 70s, it couldn't have been Maiden. Their first LP came out in 1980

I remember those ads as far back as the '60s, well before Iron Maiden existed.

That music bed may have been originally self-produced for those ads. That was done more often back in those days, rather than just ripping instrumental tracks from records.

According to local radio legend, The New England Dragway music bed was actually a 5 second tape loop (used over and over again) put together by Arnie "Woo Woo" Ginsberg while he was working at WRKO in 1967. Arnie was unable to do any air work on WRKO/WRKO-FM at the time, due to a nasty Non Compete Clause on his old contract from WMEX. The Richmond brothers really went all out to stick it to him and the injunction stuck. So, instead of doing nights on WRKO, Arnie went into WRKO sales and did quite well as you can imagine. One if his clients was New England Dragway. He took a music passage from some album cut and well...... the rest is history. As for the source of that music passage, I have no idea.

I can play it tomorrow on Air at WATD 12-3pm they are on this station and I have the add from 1969??I think
