Both my brother in law and I work at The Mix and KLUC. I'm a sales guy, he's the talent. We sat down tonight with our wives for drinks at Hard Rock Hotel and talked about Mix for a few. Seems like Mark and Mercedes have a little feud going on. Though they wont dish out on air, apparently, Mercedes is upset with Mark about a comment he made on air a few months back regarding her home show. Since the comment, Mercedes has been looking to retire from radio and focus on her tv show. Mark believed to be upset about Mercedes not pairing up with him felt she was branching herself out and leaving Mark out. Mark was overheard speaking to an account exec today about leaving Mix and moving back to Colorado. I think something is about to happen in the real close future. Mark is flying out to Denver this Friday afternoon to speak with someone at Alice. What raising more suspicion, We have been told at Mix to stop pushing sales on the mornings and focus on afternoon drive. If you ask me, Jason is a nice guy, but his show really blows! It's too bad! We could sure use a better afternoon show on mix. If Mark and Mercedes do split, I believe our station will finally hit the bottom. Our talent is really week and we keep rating by default. My brother in law would be great on our station but because of the way our group is, you'll never her a KLUC guy on Mix again. Even though he would sound great on Mix, it just wont happen. I would love for something new to happen at mix in the morning just to freshen things up. Mercedes is a nice lady, I just dont like how fake she is and how she plays the stupid role so well.
 
I call BS.

No account executive would show the unprofessionalism that you have by airing your own company's supposed dirty laundry. Plus, I'd be worried that a client would read what I wrote and hesitate buying the station. No AE is going to take that chance of blowing an order on their own station!!

Maybe you work at CBS as a board-op or something; but you are most certainly not an AE.
 
How can they leave if they just signed this $500k a year contract? With the kind of success and money they are making here, if there really is problems with the 2 of them...they'll get over it!
 
lol if you put THAT MUCH trust into the "facts" on this board that you think Mark and Mercedes are making $500k...you've got some problems.

thats the first thing, and secondly, baxter, a salesperson for mix would call it "mix"...not "the mix". not to mention sales people for mix have no time to play around on radio-info, they are busy selling the #1 billing radio station in the market.

I am retired and have no payments so I dont have problems. However, 6 months or so ago, Beasley offered M&M 400K to work there, and the offer was "upped" by CBS.

That BS with Mercedes reminds me how glad i'm out of doing morning radio and being paired up with a female. If your a guy paired with a female WATCH YOUR BACK! A lot of crazy narrcisstic dames out there just waiting to bring a Man down.
