Draper Media Acquires MTS Radio Stations

In the fall all the news was about the stations being sold to several employees, led by GM Troy Hill. Not sure what happened. Draper's first move, tweaking WAAI to 100% classic country, should prove a smart move as it's a good fit for the market. The only complaints I've read so far on social media is that they still don't play enough from the 40's/50's! Right now it's mostly via satellite-it will be interesting to see if they go back local or just leave that for their new "Chesapeake Country" WCEM-FM.

I'm hoping they don't monkey with the AM'er as it sounds so good on my collection of antique radios! Canned standards can't be that expensive to run.

WCEM AM has applied for a FM translator in the latest application window, I feel if they get it something will change.
