DRC-FM & James Brown . . . . OOPS!

My DRC-FM newsflash was e-mailed to me this morning (Wednesday, December 27, 2006 1:01:08 AM)
and this is how it started . . . .

"Here's your DRC-FM Newsflash! Enjoy your week!

From our family to yours...best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Look for DRC-FM's Rob Ray at The Palace Theatre this Wednesday night when we welcome James Brown to town! Tickets are still available online at www.palacetheaterct.org"

Obviously, tix are no longer available. As a matter of fact, the Palace website offers refund info.

Clearly, this was sent automatically. But, upon hearing of the "Godfather of Soul's" passing, someone should have been able to override the distribution for editing purposes.

Well, at least Mike Stevens cared enough to do a mini-tribute to Brown right after the continuous Christmas music ended at noon Monday. He played Brown's "Funky Christmas" at the top of the hour (probably from one of the Christmas CDs Rob Ray dug up for his Christmas Eve show), followed by three of the four Brown songs in the library: "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," "I Feel Good" and "Living in America." (I've heard "It's a Man's World" on 102.9, but not recently, and it was left out of Monday's set.)
