Even after Edwin Armstrong lost his patent battle the engineers of his day understood he knew more about the tube than DeForest.
Along these lines why are we letting people with no idea of the horrible concept of IBOC continue along their current path?
Let's create more interference in our existing messkit while agreeing the coverage we obtain is less than the interference we create in our existing spectrum?
Is there a forum for the problems created (specific interference) by IBOC along with the poor reception of IBOC in particular markets?
In Indy a local 50kw station couldn't and still can't receive their IBOC 7 miles from their stick. Had to install an outdoor antenna.
If enough information is presented to the Commission by DRE proponents we could at least have a fighting chance of creating a better digital medium than what has been placed in our mess kit.
Ideas? Links? Websites?
I have seen so many comments it would seem we could turn this around with specific interference to existing stations (decreasing coverage (yes outside the 54 or 60dbu of a station)) while not seeing a net increase that this should be a no brainer with real world information rather than a sales pitch by IBOC proponents.
