Just a few ideas. Trying to think of formats that might encourage people to buy HD radios....

How about real standards? What I have in mind is what WTLT 1480 AM was doing early in 1998. I called them and asked what that was and someone believed it was a service of Music Of Your Life with no DJs.

Or Chuck, a poster on the Standards board, could go national.

Standards would be fine but I was trying to think along the lines of formats we don't have that might encourage people to buy HD radios. I don't know if Standards would do that, but hey I would listen.

1480 I believe had been doing Timeless Classics (from ABC) or whatever it was called at the time just as 106.1 WNMX. ABC has changed the format over time as the tyupical Standards listeners fade into their sunset years. I realize Beautiful Music wouldn't be an easy sell either.

I have noticed most stations try to do a format that is close to what they are doing on the main channel. They don't stray too far from what they consider to be their "Brand". Thankfully there are exceptions to this.

The kids (if radio can still reach them) will probably be the ones to jump on HD. So most of the formats will probably end up aimed at them.
