Seems he messed up his foot and had to cancel at least a days worth of TPIR tapings.

I believe they do 2 shows in one day, but am not sure about that. I'd hate to have
waited from 5AM only to find out the show would not go on. Come on give me a blender
or something!!!!!!

It's too bad producers haven't thought of using substitute hosts, like what other game shows did in the past. The only sub host TPIR ever had since 1972 was Dennis James for a few episodes in 1974, when Bob Barker was sick. (Ironically, it was James substituting for Monty Hall on "Let's Make a Deal" that got him the nighttime TPIR gig.)

Well, no need to have a sub host, game shows could be easily canceled because
1) They're usually shot WAY ahead of it's taping date. The other day I was checking out taping dates for "Let's Make a Deal" and they were already taping their Christmas episode in July. They literally have tapes and tapes of unaired episodes. They usually double tape as mentioned above as well.
2) Game shows are not time sensitive at all. In fact, that's why GSN works so well.
3) Audiences are just decoration and cattle to the producers. They don't give a hoot if someone came from Oklahoma to be on The Price is Right, they're heartless. They apologize and have the security show them the gate.

Millionaire uses guest hosts, or at least did before Meredith Viera left Today, but on a planned basis during taping season. Carey missed a day, that's it. There's no need to disrupt things with a sub (not to mention the show is a bit more complex given the number of individual games with their own rules, staging, etc.). Mountain, meet microscopic molehill.

Really, they are time sensitive.
To the usual viewer, any black and white game show is 'out of time.'
Anything with Paul Lynde, Charles Nelson Reilly, Bruce Vlanch, Kitty Carlyle, Gene Rayburn, Peter Tomarken, etc. or other dead people is 'out of time.'
Anything that refers to 'Cuban missile crisis' as current, or having a tv repairman or a housewife in pearls and a dress on 'What's My Line?' would be 'out of time.'
Anything where the film/tape looks muddy and the color is 'off' is 'out of time.'

That's probably what they're thinking. They'll probably do the 'modern' ones for a while, wear them out, then go into 'classic game show mode' for a while, when more people are ready for it.

A game show currently in production, well ahead of airdate, is not time sensitive. Even if he were out a few days, dropping in reruns from the previous season as a short-term filler would be no problem. That’s a different discussion than GSN’s programming.

And the shoulder is where the clavicle a scapula are joined. Since a shoulder separation is called a acromioclavicular injury, it's the same thing.

Funny, I can tell if I'm watching a TPIR repeat or not depending on Carey's weight. Seriously. If he is heavy it is a repeat. If he is thin, it is current, or relatively current.

Don't get me wrong. Carey looks great at his slimed down weight, in fact, reminds me of old-time game show host Bill Cullen.

Before I get bashed for this post, let me say I appreciate TPIR as an American legacy, and Carey has helped maintain that the past few years. Bravo!
