Drew Carey slims down

If they could just get him to stop moving his hand in and out of his suit pocket. Oh well, I guess that's better than putting it somewhere else.

Carey is one of the regular white guys that has been able to carve out a living being (mostly) funny. His adaptations of "Whose Line" continues to be pretty entertaining, even in reruns. I say good for him.

Not everyones cup of tea, but no need to be...as the kids say "hatin'"....

If you don't watch the show, haven't you already made that happen, essentially? ???

Yes, but like the dandelions of Spring he just keeps poppin' back up.

Oh the horror, he popped up three years ago on two shows, one of which went away quickly. It shouldn't be too hard to simply not watch the one program.

He was funny in his time and has a different type of humor, which gets old fast. How do these actors/jokers keep getting offers for shows and movies? He's just like that lame moron (whose name escapes me because of his unfunniness) from SNL who keeps putting out movies that go directly to the bargain bin at Chinamart after flopping at the theater the pervios weekend. That SNL loser has one out now about cops.

It must be frustrating with a capital F.

Does he pop up anywhere but on your tv and computer and the checkout lines? Like your toaster, the back of your china hutch, your mirrors?
That would make me mad too.

You must be talking about Will Ferrell. "Talladega Nights" didn't exactly flop - neither did "Anchorman", although neither was a box-office champion, either. I admit his humor isn't my cup of tea, but he's certainly no Jimmy Fallon. (That's who I thought you were talking about.)

1st of 5 must really hate Will Ferrell to refer to him as 'flop'. Some dangerous news for him: Steve Carell said last week on The Early Show that ideas for a sequel to Anchorman are being kicked around.

Will Ferrell is doing just fine. Only a minority of his films are liked by critics, but most of them have made money. His new film just opened in theatres and it will make money, too. His Funny or Die website has some clever material every week, and it's free. I'm not a huge fan, but it's hard for me not to like the guy.

I have one twenty-something son and one daughter who go to virtually every comedy and action movie made. I've noticed their friends do the same. More than anything this seems to explain why mediocre actors and comedians are able to sustain themselves putting out one garbage movie after another.

Or maybe it just means most movies aren't worth watching these days but people still like a night out at the theater.

Hollywood has lowered the bar so low I can't get under it any longer.

Will Ferrell is brilliant. This was proved to me by watching clips shows from "Saturday Night Live". No one else can really do George W. Bush.

Many comedians can do one or two impersonations. A real comedian can do many. Ferrell is not in that category.

How about Frank Caliendo? He only has a handful of good impersonations - but unfortunately, for him, some of them (Bush and John Madden, in particular) are no longer relevant...

Reminds me of Vaughn Meader (JFK impersonator). How long did his career last? 18 months?

In all fairness, I don't think Ferrell built his reputation (like him or not) on just impersonations. Bush may have been one of his bits, but his whole image isn't built on that (or his Celebrity Jeopardy bit--my personal favorite).

He has a dead-on impression of Glenn Beck. I laughed so hard, I nearly drove the car off the road.
