Oh! Please! Please! Tell me Drex did NOT sign a new deal like someone said he was talking about on the air this morning! What is radio coming to, when a lisping, egotistical, non-opinionated man, who talks about the exact same thing, day in and day out... again, without ever expressing an opinion... is allegedly given 6 years at a full-market/underperforming because of him, radio station in market 3.

Wow. Chicago was the home of the greats. Now apparently Drex is heritage. Radio is dead.

Its Kiss FM. Your not going to get quality. Its geared toward the kids. I gaurantee as soon as Eddie & Jobo's contract is up, Styles and Roman will take over. That's even worse then DREX!<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by ZelenRecords on 11/30/05 08:52 PM.</FONT></P>

It's unbearable in my car as compared to all other stations.

It doesn't matter. Kiss doesn't have to do better, B96 just has to keep falling apart and a claim of a new number one will be heard on a radio station that's just a bad as the former #1.

Sorry to hear Drex will be plaquing the air for more time. It's the holidays, get new tech gear and render it useless.

The entire air staff and programming need to go. In the words of the Winans and Teddy Riley, It's time to make that change. Oops, that was urban before white folks were hip to it, sorry.

I hope not. It's a joke... the morning show on Kiss is about everyone BUT Drex. Who'd miss him except when he says "our next caller is.."? Mel, Pete and Joanne are the real stars of the show, but Drex gets all the attention and, probably, all the $$.

If Kiss was smart, they'd dump Drex and spend some of that money on local weekend and overnight talent. Chris Randolph, Rodney P, Smash, J-dog and that chick they have doing early Saturday mornings are the worst cyber-jocks I've ever heard... even Randy West had some phoners and listener interaction.

Why can't they hire some more live-and-local jocks for the weekends and dump these stiffs? There has to be talent in Chicago willing to work for Clear Channel wages.

Just like Drex has a history of getting other male jocks on his stations fired! It happened in Detroit. It happened in San Antonio. It happened in Chicago. Isn't that pattern a problem to anyone else in the Clear Channel heirarchy?

How about Smash & Rodney P are in Chicago. I don't remember off-hand what Rodney P's duties are, but he's more behind the scenes of Kiss FM. He's occasionally heard on Drex's morning show. Same with Smash, more of a behind the scenes person, though Smash does a lot of voice-tracking for overnights and other stations. But if I'm correct, Smash is live on weekends. Rodney is definitely voice-tracked for weekends as he never seems to have calls on his daypart. I won't comment on J-Dog as I haven't listened to Kiss FM as much since Nine FM went on the year almost a year and a half ago, plus I believe Sirius programs their CHR/Pop channel better than CC does with their Kiss FM.

Smash = APD/MD of Kiss.
