DRIVE FX (Hudson Valley, NY)....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

http://www.foxradio.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=513&Itemid=28 (Scroll down to the fourth logo)

They are mainly on HD but they have translators on 94.1 (covering mainly Orange (Newburgh) and a part of Putnam county) and 95.7 (Dutchess County/Poughkeepsie). Hearing the format of this station....I have to say it...

I F*@#$@#% LOVE IT!!!!!!

They are VERY current, VERY progressive, and even the recurrents are HOT! They mainly lean house and trance but you also hear dance/rhythmic tracks that CHR stations would play. Seriously, I was really blown away by this. Granted, I loved Pulse 87, but Pulse this is NOT!

The only downside to the station are that their tracks don't pop up on RDS (you only see the 94.1 and 95.7 frequency numbers appear) which would be helpful in order to know what tracks are being played. For freestyle fans, you are out of luck being that this is a current intensive station and the recurrents go perhaps as far back as 10 years.

Other than that, this station has my FULL support. Seriously, I am in LOVE with it. Now if they can only get down to the NYC area somehow......

I definitely agree with you on that Tony. No other dance station comes close to this station. It plays all kinds of dance hits from 2000 till now. I listen to it through the Tune In app. ;D

With the glowing reviews you guy are giving it.... I had to give it a listen.

They just played Abagail - You Set Me Free.

This station officially rocks. ;D

They play Scooter!!! YES!!!

Two thumbs up for stations willing to challenge the status quo and play good music.

Thanks for the heads up Tony. ;)

Does anyone know who runs the station? Just heard Basto! - Again & Again.

Fantastic!

FM/HD is never this fast, especially with your non-pop currents like that.

;D

I spoke to the guy over there, Tom Bahr.

Drive FX in itself is a syndicated feed but it looks as if it's done out of there. They also give local DJ's a show on most nights. Amazingly enough they are getting their material from Beatport, to which I felt they shouldn't have to do that; that record labels would be MORE than happy to give them material to go on air with. So to that, I made some calls to a couple of labels on their behalf (because as a coalition, that's what we're SUPPOSED to do :), help one another).

Most of the labels never knew about this station and quite honestly, I would have never known about it either if I didn't mess around with the radio dial while on the Taconic Parkway heading towards I-84 just outside of Fishkill, NY.

The station is TRULY amazing! I can't stop talking good about this! :) I have them tuned in on my smartphone while driving.

WOW!!!!!!

It was funny that I mentioned this a year or so back (re: using translators to broadcast a dance formatted HD channel.) Looks like someone is doing it and doing it well. Wish it could happen where I am at ???

Syndicated from where? I'd love to know, mainly because I'm tired of Shazam'ing every other song on the station. :p

I'm thinking it's done out of their studios in New Windsor, NY. And yeah, people are getting edgy about hearing tracks that they like, but no information on it. They're working on something for the website as I understand.

I love Drive FX,, but the stream isnt working on my phone, or at home...

I'm aware of it. But now that they are on translators on 94.1 and 95.7 it's in the cars and now it's getting more exposure..which is a good thing.

What I should be doing though, at times, is to tune in to 96.1 Kiss and K-104 up there to see if they've done anything musically to "respond". Granted, I don't see the CHR's playing ANYTHING CORE like Drive FX, but just to see if the station is making some effect.
