Anyone else hear Dro Silva announce today, on-air, that he leaving
WWBA / News Talk 1040AM for an Atlanta gig. What was he there for, seven - eight months?
I guess, just used it as a stepping stone. More turnover at Genesis!

Under NO circumstances put Laura Ingraham on mid mornings... She has become like the "other" Dr. Laura... preachy, bitchy.....Boortz has fun most of the time

This is one loss that actually impacts the on-air product. Silva was beginning to build something there. Does anyone know where in Atlanta he's going?

Thank you Dro for putting LOCAL programing back in Tampa Bay talk radio.

I hope this does not mean it's the end of WWBA's local shows.

Yeah, Dro's show was good. I enjoyed listening.
I didn't hear it at all last week, as I was out of town.

Why did he say he's leaving? For what station? WGST-640 Atlanta?
That turkey of a station (Crap Ch. owned) runs Dave Ramsey, for pete's sake, from 3-7 p.m. Four hours of Ramsey?
That's got to endear listeners and drive them somewhere else.

Since I'm on a roll here tonight....... Dro's time slot will stay local. I'll let the station tell you the rest, but I'll promice you won't here anything national from 9-12.

I listened to Dan York.........

Ok all that nice stuff I said about local talk.....Hmmmm

He is a nice weekend host.

I have only two words to say…. Paul Gonzales

He is tanned, he is on Davis Island, He has seen Marilyn Chambers nude, He is (I am sure) READY.

Really, I think he would own the time slot.
P L E A S E…

I heard it through the grapevine that he going back to FM in ATL on Project 9-6-1. He really belongs on FM anyway.

I too heard he was headed back to music radio. I think he was recently motivated by a mentor to go back to his true love. He was doing a good local show here and will be missed...I wish him well in Atlanta.

The last hour of Ramsey is a nearly a throw away hour. It get pre-empted by Braves baseball much of the time and the night signal is not that strong. When no Braves it's just an hour of fill until Savage comes on. For what's it's worth, I think Ramsey does pretty well on the station though.

WGST- "We air nothing local" - doesn't carry Savage. WSB, however, does, after their nighttime host.

Whoops - you are right...they carry Levin.

Silva was a breath of fresh air in a talk radio world that's turned stale full of hot air.

Dro - or El Jeffe as he's really known - had a high-energy show that quickly attracted caller and listener interest. He made the topic interesting.

Dro was likely one of the best new hosts to come into the Tampa market- a radio market that has turned stale and shrill and one that offers very little talk radio.

He will be missed.

Maybe, it's not too late to hitch a ride... pseudo-stars want sycophants.

More bad-mouthing Tampa talent and radio stations.

Working inside CC and firing people, you apparently want only one station to succeed - the one whose owners have monopolized the signals.
Sure makes for great radio.
