Dropbox of Death
We’ve cut expenses to the bone. Standardizing everything got rid of the office staffs. We don’t need to rent any buildings anymore if we don’t have the cost of expensive equipment and local talent to deal with. We’ve sold off all the little markets and got some cash to make all web sites and stations look and sound alike. With all programming coming out of San Antonio now, the only things we need are laptops at the transmitter sites.
As you know, local talent was getting in the way of The Plan. We took care of that in Atlanta, and are completing the changeover in markets “B” through “Z”. Our competitors will continue to pay the price to keep a local presence and whatever they call “heritage”, but they will soon find out that our “SmartRadio” approach will overtake them, too.
I know we still have small sales staffs in the largest markets to contact clients and make it appear as if we have an interest in staying local, but that is being replaced by another bank of phones in India and direct internet connection to clients with proper passwords.
You guys keep this under your hats; don’t let people think that we don’t care. As long as they think we are constantly changing formats to provide what they want, they will accept it and not gripe about what they are missing. We play the game and we will reap more profits as more markets get centralized.
Remember, THESE are the “good old days” – the days we developed the SmartRadio approach and built an Empire – and you were a part of it. Congratulations! You are all fired; pick up your paychecks on the way out, and Merry Christmas.
