Dry/annoying commercials killing TSL

The gas pumps have a mute button. The exact button varies but start punching them and eventually you get the right one.

On the pumps at the gas station I frequent, pressing the mute button only mutes the spot/music that is currently playing. It requires a push for each spot that runs, depending how big your fuel tank is, that could be several spots.

The fact you hate it shows that it is effective: it's stuck in your memory, isn't it.
I don't know about others but when I see bunches of the same commercials, regardless of product, I make a mental note not to consider that product. If they have to blast tons of commercials there is obviously a stockpile of the product and it is probably due to being a piece of crap. After all, there is always a reason it isn't selling.

The Kars-4-Kids commercials are highly effective, because by the time you hit the button to change the station, you've already heard their phone number, which itself already explains the purpose of the organization.

What bothers me more is that their jingle always sounds like it's being played from a very low bitrate MP3 file.

Gah, I can't believe those are still on the air. But they mostly run on AMs or news/talkers on FM. Count on KIRO 710 running those commercials every couple of hours.

Content conflicts happen a lot on talk stations. Just the other day, the host went on a rant about how dangerous and unproven COVED vaccines were, and how he would never get one, followed by a break where the first spot was about the virtues and protections of getting the vaccine. Both host and spot were local.

Plus there's the Madison Reed hair coloring lady, the My Pillow guy, and of course Dr. Lederman in the NYC area, none of which have good voices for radio.

Ever heard Tom Shane? Face for radio and voice for TV.

At least Shane Company do use a professional VO guy to do the tagline and business hours at the end of their spots.

Uggh! I've been listening to horrible Tom Shane commercials for over 30 years. I've got news for him, I do not have a friend in the diamond business. And don't get me started on Cars4Kids, just a station changer as soon as the first note plays. My finger is faster than the second note of their jingle.

Tom Shane is better than those Liberty Liberty Liberty or Kars4Kids ads. He doesn't advertise around here because Shane Co. doesn't serve eastern Washington, but I still hear his commercials on AM stations in Portland/Seattle.

There is nothing on the air that is as completely moronic than Liberty Insurance. Apparently, Liberty has no desire to attract customers with an IQ greater than their shoe size.

"Get your wet teddy bears! One hundred percent wet! Guaranteed, or the next one's on me!" Is there anything dumber? Has there ever been? I wonder how many times the actor playing the vendor broke out laughing as he read those lines. I hope he was paid well.

And that one was without the emu and its idiot.

The radio ad that I HATE...HAAATTTEEEE the most is Liberty Mutual telling us that "people remember commercials when there's lots of repetition, so we'll demonstrate repetition". I automatically change that channel so fast in the car the emu didn't know what hit him.

Not to mention on our televisions, the Gecko is once again, for the 4th time in 8 years, screaming about how he has "a flat tireeeeee!!!" Does Geico like recycling crummy ads from 2013?

It must be a "thing" with car insurance companies. I have no idea why, but Liberty, Progressive, and Geico pander to people that are so stupid, they have no business driving a car, let alone buying insurance.

They may call that "humor," but there is a big difference between humor and idiocy.

And BTW one more note, that fri--en wet teddy bear commercial. On YouTube, the likes are 60% and dislikes are 40%, approximately. Has our generation dumbed down or what? In fact, it's closer to 80% likes for the dumb emu and Doug ad where they are working out in the gym. I can't find any of these commercials funny and I mute them or change the radio station if they come on, I am sick of that horrible jingle too.
In fact, the commercials kept me away from signing an insurance policy with either GEICO, Progressive, or LM. I have State Farm. Take THAT, you stupid emu and even stupider sidekick! ;)

The agency/charity that buys the Kars for Kids spots are a frequent advertiser nationwide. A shady charity? Perhaps, but most of those AM's you talk about I'm sure appreciate the revenue.
Kars 4 Kids donations aid in the religious education of children who, for the most part, aren't particularly needy.

So what if they pay to send Jewish kids from well-off families to summer camp? That doesn't mean they're violating any laws.
If people continue to donate their vehicles without confirming that the charity lines-up with their personal belief structure, doesn't mean K4K is doing anything wrong.

Maybe that is why I have USAA for my motor vehicle insurance?

Lol, personally I choose to ignore the stupid commercials (though Geico does have a few creative spots on TV I've liked - the "clogging problem" being one good example) and each time my auto insurance is up for renewal, I check with several companies and whichever is cheapest given my needs and desired coverage levels, gets my business. In my case, it's usually always been Progressive, though State Farm did come in lowest on one occasion and got my business for that particular term.

The ads that irritate me on TV and radio both are the ones that keep repeating the same toll free number, keep repeating the same toll free number, KEEP REPEATING THE SAME TOLL FREE NUMBER!!!
