DSC with no S

The Union Tribune reports that as of today, the S of DSC is still under contract to Clear Channel and thus can't join the team on Jack: The D of DSC says they are trying to work that out and we all know that CC will bend over backwards to help DSC and Jack.

So sdradio.net is now saying that Ms Dunn is tied to CC until December. Why is she signed to a different length contract than everyone else? Its gonna sound really strange to hear Dave and Cookie minus Shelly's cackling in the background.

No, sdradio.net got that wrong: he says "As promised, the entire crew will be on the morning airwaves. That includes Shelly Dunn, Cookie Chainsaw Randolph..."

The Union-Tribune newspaper reports at signonsandiego.com, "Shelly Dunn is still under contract with Clear Channel, which owns KGB/101.5 FM, where the show aired for almost 20 years. But Rickards does not plan on letting his show go on without her for too long.

“I’m doing everything I can to get her back,” Rickards said Thursday."

See http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/jul/15/dsc-radio-show-back-air-aug-2-jack-1007-fm/ for the rest of the story, oh my.

Maybe they'll get lucky and CC won't bend and the talented Nina Reba's Ruth 66 character will get the equal billing on the DRC Show :)

The press release from Midwest City that was sent out the night prior had her in the line up. They had an embargo until 8 a.m. local, and at that time the facts were known about Shelly. Yes, Karla had it the day before from Dave; and the show will be called DSC on Jack. The show will include Shelly as soon as her contract is up. It could be the end of 2010.

As in any breaking story, it moved fast and I had the info on line as fast as possible. I know you like and probably enjoy the verbal darts and that's OK. Besides David Tanny and myself at our respected sites, no other online zines cover San Diego radio better.

SDRadio DID NOT get it wrong. Chris reports what he has. I had trouble keeping track of how fast that story moved! Hats off to you my friend!
