The offer was pulled by the radio-info.com powers to be ):
It is now off board at

What's an "Omnia Junior"? I've never heard of that one. Maybe Mr. Foti can clue me in if he sees this.

Also, I'm curious as to why the Optimod 9200 is ranked higher than the 9100, when the 9200's current list price (for a brand new unit from Orban) is about half of what the 9100 costs. And I don't quite understand why any AM processors are being accepted as trade-ins for FM DSPXs. Perhaps a trade-in offer for AM processors should be held separately when the forthcoming AM versions of the DSPX series are released?

Our offer might not make sense to a lot of people and don't ask me to explain it, we have our reasons.
I don't know about future offers and if there will be any. We are just feeling very merry around the office at this festive time and wanted to pay back the industry for the support we have recieved in 2005.
Best regards

It was a "baby sister" of Omnia.fm ;-)

It had 3-band limiter only, instead of 4-band AGC + 4-band limiter as Omnia.fm. Essentially it's pretty much the same as Omnia-3fm (pre-turbo version).

Good thing was that it used the same chassis as Omnia.fm so you could upgrade to Omnia.fm processing at any time just by purchasing PCMCIA card with Omnia.fm algorithm.

Hey DSPX users!!!

What do you think would be a better proc. to use in an AM environment, the DSPXmini or the 6 band DSPX? I know that they are used for FM right now but Scott is writing code for use with AM and am curious which would make for a better box. I am planning to Beta test one of these units for our (awful sounding) AM. My hope is that Scott will take an 8100 in trade for a DSPX built out for AM use to Beta test...if that doesn't work, I may have to bribe him with an 8000. Yup, I would be willing to part with it.
Thoughts, comments, ideas on the which DSPX for AM?

We have a couple of units
We have two of the new 3fm Turbos on a CHR and Rock formats and another Omnia unit which is a bit bigger in appearance. It has 4 bands of AGC, Low, Mid, Pres, High, and Wide band. Plus 4 bands of Limiting, Low, Mid, Pres, and High. Is this the Omnia Junior, Im not sure? It sounds beautiful on vocals, almost an Optimod sound, but not as natural as the 3fmturbos! Is this unit better than the 3fmt's and whats it called

No, this is original Omnia.fm, bigger and more powerful 'sister' of Omnia.jr. It was the first processor from Omnia brand and a unit that started it all :)

Frank did made Cuttin Edge Unity 2000 processor before Omnia units, but this processor wasn't as good (IMHO) as Omnias.

In my opinion, I would go with Omnia.fm over Omnia.3fmt. But to be honest, I haven't heared Omnia.fm in quite a bit...

Oh Yip. We have some of those Unity's floating about the company but I'm not a huge fan. The thing I like about the 3fmt's is they sound quite natural, and I quite like the top end, which I see alot of people dissagree with here. It sounds far more musical than the Omnia.fm but it has a tendency to distort heavily limited material, and the bass is a bit...umm not optimod??? which is the same with all the omnia family, including the O6 (which we also have) and unity.
