dspxtreme presets & user experience

hi i am opening a topic for these who get the dspxtreme and like to share presets and the experience from the dspxtreme.

Well as you know I like it (A LOT). The sound it can produce is bang on to my taste, but it's versatile enough to do well in any format and region. I find it easy to taylor the sound, the dspx-fm took me a lot more time to achieve a certain sound I was after. Can't wait for the final release with Goran's ideas build-in to it.

I know you are still looking for your signature sound, so I still want to help you and continue where we left off before my vacation. ;)

You guys may wish to hold on a few more days for a new release before you spend considerable time playing with the DSPXtreme. Goran will post something once it is uploaded to audio-processor.com

By now I can answer my own question. Presets work fine in the new software but due to heavily modifications in the clippers (among other things) you might want to tune things. I ended up with less clipping, resulting in less audible distortion but at the same loudness as before. I find the overall sound smoother. Nice job from the guy's at BW. :)

The new version of software (that we'll release shortly) will require a bit of tweaking when using presets from earlier version. The main difference in regards to presets is that AGC controls have changed slightly. The main sonic difference are the improvements in the multiband clipper and final clipper that we've spent quite a lot of time on. The new clippers are cleaner and have more depth therefore, as you've noticed, you might want to re-adjust the multi-band clipper and main clipper drives depending on the sound/loudness you want to achieve.

Regards,
Goran Tomas

up!

the new software is up for the dspxtreme any opinions about it?

i try it for a few days now and my opinion is that the dspxtreme sounds to me with little more hi's

I just got a DSPXtra ;D It arrived only the day before yesterday so... :-X
Compared with the Orbans the (remote) interface is something that will need some getting used to. No visible adjustment in mS but simple sliders from 0-10. I can't wait to 'get into it'. Is there a website where I can download some presets based on the the new firmware? (BTW: why isn't the remote software downloadable from Broadcastwarehouse.com?)

I know, I was just wondering why the same isn't offered on the BW website
Thank you anyway ;)

It is! The website is bwbroadcast.com. BW broadcast designs and manufactures the products. You are referring to the e-commerce retailer broadcastwarehouse.com

bwbroadcast.com has several subsites includiong audio-processor.com and fm-transmitter.com etc. Shortly fm-receiver.com and audio-over-ip.com :)
