Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm wondering what happens to OTA channels carried on cable after the conversion?
I have Charter Cable and they have two different line-ups for the analog channels (CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc) and the digital/HD versions of the same channels on different numbers.
Will the cable company simply downconvert the newly digital channels back to analog and keep them in their current positions (2,4,5,7, etc) and keep the digital/HD channels in higher positions (781-789)? Or will they consolidate them to one line up. I guess for people who still have analog TVs but subscribe to cable, they will still need the downconverted channels after Feb 17. I wonder if they will add the digital versions of channels not currently offered on cable (i.e. Univision, Independent KDOC, etc) to the HD/digital area? I wonder how the must carry law will effect this...if they have to carry all local OTA channels in both digital and downconverted analog.
