DTV DX Weds July 15

Not much discussion of DTV DX on this board, but I thought I'd mention very nice tropo conditions this past Wednesday evening (July 15), with reception of WVPX ch 23 Akron, Ohio and WKYC-3 (digital channel 17) here in Poughkeepsie, NY at over 400 miles. Signals were best around 8pm. DTV DX was widespread throughout the Midwest, with many reports of strong distant signals. FM DX was likewise very good Wednesday evening.

A video of my WVPX reception is posted on YouTube.

Nice catch and thanks for the video.

I've never had any luck with DTV DXing but I was on the ground floor of an apartment and couldn't put the antenna very high.

When it comes to VHF, UHF, and FM, only a few feet in height can make a noticeable difference.

I still miss analog TV DXing with the fading in and out picture and the lines or the bars on the screen.
