DTV PSAs sponsored by the cable company

nd2023

Banned
I heard a PSA for DTV on the radio that explained what people should do if they lost their TV reception last week.
1. Buy an outdoor antenna
2. Buy a converter box
3. Or, just let Cablevision help you with the transition

It's a nice way to subtly advertise the cable company. They were offering basic cable for less than $10 a month for a year, or free with new Optimum Online service.
I bet new cable subscriptions are at a record high since cable came to existence.

Many of the cable companies weren't stupid, they went out of their way wording the commercials just so, But I saw many of the majors doing that such as Charter and Cox saying tags like " Don't be left out in the dark come June 12, subscribe today"

Maybe why some people out there mistakenly think TV is now Pay only..no more free programming

Famous commercials:
1) "Hate the thought of buying a new suit just to bury gram'pa in? Hey! We'll rent you one!"

2) "Can't make your old TV antenna get those new-fangled Digital TV channels? Hey! We'll rent you ours!" ;D
