DTV Reception--ET--Follow-Up

Okay...I posted this at AVS Forums...but nobody's replied to it so I'd figure I'd post it here....

I got my Air2PC DTV Tuner Card (aka the Technisat DVB-TV PC Stars Card) yesterday.....

I've repositioned my Philips rabbit ears/amplifier antenna in every little direction possible...so far....nothing. No KLTV...no KETK (I was not expecting to get it anyway)....right now the Antenna's on the highest spot in my bedroom in my home on FM 19 South in Frankston......which is a shelf between 7-8 feet off the ground....and that's probably as high as I can get it without having to move the shelf onto the other side of the room.....still nothing (it's improved my reception of KYTX and KETK analog).

Is there a minimum height I should position my little antenna.....or should I just attempt to hook it up to the master antenna, which is permanently pointed towards Tyler-Longview and is an outdoor Channel Master antenna?

No KYTX-DT? Because if you can't get a whiff of signal from them (digital channel 18), then you might want to check your equipment and such.

And try your roof antenna. It might work better with KLTV, as KLTV is on channel 10, a VHF, rather than a UHF like the rest of the stations.

I did some antenna adjustments....but as a result, I got a small whiff of KYTX....but it wasn't a powerful enough signal to get a signal lock....

Could it be the trees, since I'm in a somewhat wooded area? Or could it be the indoors blocking my access too....

I'm just new to the DTV game.....

It's a possibility. Particularly the indoor thing. Try to move the antenna around the room, physical locations can impact the signal, even if the antenna is pointing in the same direction in the varying locations. I know first hand.

If that doesn't help, it would help to put it as high as possible.
