DTV Reception in East Texas....

Okay folks.....I just ordered an Air2PC HDTV tuner card for my computer. And I have a nice little pair of Philips Rabbit Ears with an Amplifier.....the question is this....what East Texas DTV stations to I stand to get a good chance of recieving through that setup where I live in Frankston? I'm guessing KYTX and KLTV.....

Not KLTV. Their digital is off the air, last I heard, since their tower collapsed.

KYTX-DT looks like the best possibility, and you look like you're pretty close to KETK-DT also, which is at low power from the same location. KFXK-DT doesn't look like it'll be available, as they're at low power and from a short tower in Longview.

I'm not familiar with the area, that's just what I can tell from a map and a station list.

Best of luck to you.

KLTV-DT is operating from their temp tower in East Tyler (323 @ 31). Same power, shorter stick, closer to Frankston, so he may be able to get it in Frankston. I can still receive it in Longview. The signal here is just not as strong as before and I have to point the antenna farther south.

KYTX-DT is a given.

KETK-DT is a maybe, but low power and no HD. AFAIK, they are not transmitting from the KYTX tower in Ponta, but from the KETK tower in Mt. Selman.

KFXK-DT is a definite no. Their hampster powered signal barely covers the Longview city limits and is currently not broadcasting in HD.

KCEB WB-54 has no digital signal.

Shreveport and Dallas are a definite no with an indoor antenna.

I would suggest visiting AVS Forums at:

for discussions related to Tyler, TX HDTV reception.
