WFSB has taken away it's shrunken screen with the scrolling message at the bottom, not sure what this means, but I'm thinking most of Hartford/New Haven analog has only 10 more days!

NBC 30 is a NBC O&O so they won't go till June 12.

What differernce does that make?

what is the scoop in Boston?

As a CBS OnO 4 may be waiting for June :(
i believe 2,5,and 44 are a go for the 17th.

I know ch 7 is going from 42 to 7 as its permanent digital channel
25 and 50 are already done.
Not sure about 38,56,or 68.

Up in NH I know 11 is a go for the 17th but I am not sure about 9.

WMUR announced on their Friday 6:00 PM newscast they are staying with analog until June.

I read somewhere that all O&Os are going with the new date.

I think all O&O's of all the networks are staying on

The Boston stations are a bunch of wimps!

11,60,and 62 are it.

Although for all practical purposes ch 25 has already converted (the analog signal is too weak) all the other stations including chs 2 and 44 are wimping out.

Coupons and boxes have been available for an entire YEAR!

WHPX-TV/DT (ION) channel 26/digital 34 of New London is the only station in Hartford/New Haven that's definitely switching off the analog next week.

Providence. WNAC-TV will be nightlighting. Meaning the analog will stay on after 02/17/09, but with a slate saying, switch to DTV (No programming). WPRI won't because the channel is occupied by WNAC-DT post the evil date.

Does anyone know if the other tower at the WHPX site will be taken down once analog is switched off? They built a new tower over there about 7-8 years ago, but the old one is still standing right next to it.

I am curious. Why doesn't WPRI flash cut back to their old Channel 12 and put WNAC on 13 instead? Just curious. ;D

The FCC wouldn't have guaranteed them the same coverage area they have now. The FCC gave stations keeping their existing DTV channels priority over those moving around.

Over on fybush.com they said WFSB Channel 3 will be going digital Feb 17 and as for 61, 20 and 8 is still not sure.

Regarding the Digital Transition, this just in from Projo.com:

http://newsblog.projo.com/#447990

The FCC has told WNAC FOX 64 to stay on for two weeks after Feb 17th and WLNE ABC 6 for an additional two months after the 17th to broadcast DTV transitional information and local news - no other programming.
Only WJAR NBC 10 and WPRI CBS 12 will shut off the analog on the 17th.

The idea of stations staying on longer is a massive waste of time amd money in my opinion.

WJAR has been scrolling a message throughout this past weekend, and WNAC actually was earlier today, but they're not now.

All bets are off! Both the radio (WTIC-AM) and Fybush.com reported today that all of CT TV with the exception of WEDW, WUVN and WHPX are going to stay until the new cutoff date.

If WJAR-TV channel 10 shuts off tonight, how soon could WTNH-DT of New Haven change their pattern on channel 10? OR, is WTNH-DT increasing power at all?

So as soon as the clock strikes 12am/2/17/09--in the middle of the Tonight Show-- the RI stations transition?

The problem with WJAR turning off the analogue transmitter in the middle of the tonight show is....................

kidding ::)

WCAX/3 in Burl VT ran a feature on its 11p newscast last night (I'm from Boston but am in Rutland for a couple days) about the transition and showed a map with areas of green (you'll be able to pick up CH 3 on antenna) and orange (you won't). Many areas on NH, VT, and NY which used to pick up 3 fine, won't (though maybe a better antenna would help?)...Even some parts of Addison County, just to the south of Chittenden county!
