DTV doesn't travel as well as analog did. But it still does travel. When I'm at our family's summer cottage in New Hampshire, I see several Boston TV stations (100 miles away) many nights and early mornings. And maybe a couple of times a month, I'll catch a couple of Providence stations too (150 miles). But it's usually the same stations. From Boston, WBZ-TV 4, WHDH 7, maybe WFXT 25 and WCVB 5. And from Providence, WPRI 12 and WNAC 64.

Right. As I said, I only get the Boston stations in the later hours. It's from a couple hours after sunset to a couple of hours after sunrise. The sun doesn't have as much impact on TV signals as it does on AM radio. But it has some. Same for FM stations in Boston. I sometimes get the Boston FM stations coming in at night or in early morning.
