Dueling iPod shuffle weekends

99x said it's using Program Director Jay Harren's iPod. So I actually heard "Come Together" by the Beatles at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday night. And other songs heard Saturday on 99X: Led Zeppelin's "A Whole Lotta Love." The Who's "Baba O'Riley!" The Rolling Stones "Sympathy for the Devil." GNR's "Sweet Child O' Mine." Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." And Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Dave Fm is touting it's using Jim Mora's iPod though it appears to be doing so only once or twice an hour. This allows Dave FM to play Van Halen for the very first time ("Janie's Cryin'" and "Panama" on Saturday.) And at 11:11 p.m. Saturday night, Dave FM actually played Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'" Yes, Dave FM played "Big Pimpin'"!

Damn! How desperate is that? Why not just shut down the sales dept?

Jay-Z?? On Dave-FM??? I like it, but don't think it'll fly with folks here in the ATL. I like the idea of Dave mixing it up more. Some times I get the feeling that Dave-Fm stands for Dave Matthewa Band radio. I wish they'd liven it up more during the day.

I've said it once, I'll say it again. Just because we're older doesn't mean we're dead below the waist yet!
