Duemig picked up on DUI

This hack who wrote the article is wrong. He railed on Jerramy Stevens over sexual assault, not DUI. I like how he throws him under the bus, says he deserves it, and then hopes Duemig isn't too upset.

Duemig addressed it right away and was very contrite. Wrong place, wrong time, and he apparently was arrested in his own driveway.

Looks like Pro Football Weekly is going to have to start peddling their wares with Brantley and his crappy ratings.

From Pro Football Talk:

"Duemig, an afternoon host on the team’s flagship station, lashed out at the Bucs earlier this month for bringing back Stevens, whose alleged misdeeds also include one particular claim that’s far more heinous than driving drunk."

Pretty sure he covers that it wasnt about DUI that Big Dog was upset about Stevens...read again...jackass.

It could happen to any one of us...even a very opinionated sports talk host.

Then, read again - and add your own mode of transport, jackass...:

From Pro Football Talk:

"Duemig, an afternoon host on the team’s flagship station, lashed out at the Bucs earlier this month for bringing back Stevens, whose alleged misdeeds also include one particular claim that’s far more heinous than driving drunk, on a lawnmower in your frontyard." ;D

DUI is a Damn Big Deal.
my cousin's 7-year old son was killed by a drunk driver
while he was walking to his school bus.
my nephew was killed by a drunk driver while riding
home from school with his grandmother.
(grandmother died two years later from injuries)
DUI is a "throw him/her under the bus" first time offense.
no excuse/no quarter/no nothing. one and done.

DUI is a Damn Big Deal.

Agreed.

Yes, getting popped for DUI could happen to any of us, as long as "any of us" are stupid enough to actually get behind the wheel of a car after a few cocktails.

Interesting then, that Nancy Alejandro has two DUI's (technically one, but you know what I mean) and is still gainfully employed.

Who are you refering to on this? Me?

The only surpise is that it took him so long to get busted. He has often mentioned on-air that at one time or another all of us get behind the wheel after having a little too much. He has never been a hypocrite about DUI, but that does not excuse the offense. Anyone who has seen him out at night, has seen him hit it pretty hard and then head home on his own.

The guy is partner in a bar, that is walking distance from his home. If the Venue was wear he was before heading home and he was over the legal limit, I am sure someone could have dropped him off and he could have walked back to his car the next morning.

He probably figured, it's a two minute drive, what can happen? Well he got his answer.

However you feel about DUI (these days I don't think anyone will defend it) it's still good taste to wait for due process to "throw someone under the bus." Even in a DUI arrest there is potentially more to a story than meets the eye. For what it's worth I've never know Steve to go holier than thou as two idiot sports talk hosts accused him of yesterday. Gloating over someone else's DUI arrest is something that is in bad taste and practically begging for bad Karma. As a recent series of stories proved, even people who don't drink at all, are potentially at risk of being charged with DUI.

Couldnt agree more...Dont gloat about it...that is very bad taste...I think the Chix actually told him to hang in there and sorry. That was nice.

It's a no-tolerance issue that affects my opinion of the judgement of my favorite sports guy. Sorry, folks, but there is no gray in this issue.

Of course, as someone mentioned earlier, best to wait for due process before casting stones and asperions.

Duemig will survive.

I hope you never get picked up. (As we learned from a deputy getting fired recently, even if you don't drink that's no guarantee you won't get charged with "driving under the influence") If you do, you may find very quickly that there are in fact gray areas in this issue.

This certainly is one of the sensitive issues of our time, and rightfully so. Of course, no one condones driving a vehicle while impaired, however, the laws are "one size fits all". There are no levels. Even the worse crime a person can inflict, murder, has degrees! The stigma attached to DUI is interesting as well. Duemig didn't rob a bank or molest a child. Steve will survive. He will pay the fines, go to school, do commmunity service, repent, and call a cab.

I remember Diaz had an incident where he went the wrong way down a one-way street on the way back home from Checkers after admittedly having a few beers at home. Odds are management would dictate that no one other than Steve address it on 620.
