Dumas Tornado

During that time while I was on the air at WBAD, I had a confirmed call of the tornado in Dumas. I kept up the weather reports until I was ready to sign off to take it to automation. That tells you how much 50,000 watts of power can do for you.

not in radio anymore....but i thank all you guys and girls who put the word out over the air...my 19 year old daughter was at work at the big star in dumas....right across the street from alot of major damage. she actually had to sit there through both tornadoes. thankfully she is fine....thanks in part to all of you.

i work in law enforcement now for the last ten years and my heart goes out and hat goes off the all the officers who are working to keep dumas safe. thanks to all of you too.

just another reminder of the power of good radio in a time like this....keep it up[ ya'll.

It's a pleasure. That's why in a world of corporate nonsense local radio still cares.

I was able to pick up 97.3's coverage out of Stuttgart. They did an excellent job well into the evening. Of course they simulcast on KXFE 106.9 there in Dumas, but I never heard if that tower/station got hit. It is well to the north of town almost to Gould so I would guess it survived.

Even though I live in the Northeast (Pennsylvania) now, I hope that everyone is okay first of all.

Was there any damage to the broadcast outlet(s) in Dumas?

Hopefully, the stations survived the hit that caused so much devastation in Dumas. Dumas is a proud community. It will rebuild quickly.

While most stations aren't local much anymore around the country; was the local Dumas outlets able to keep residents up-to-date with current weather info?

My second career is also LE. Were you ever in Little Rock radio?

If so, e-mail me off board.
