Dumb COX Cable

COX Cable in Connecticut is really stupid. On April 15th WFSB Channel 3.3 transitioned from Eyewitness News Now to LAFF TV. And they launched ESCAPE on WFSB Channel 3.2 Eyewitness News Now was on on Channel 801 so in theory it should've transitioned over to LAFF as well. It didn't. Channel 801 is now ESCAPE. That being said however the onscreen program guide on COX has the listings for LAFF for Channel 801 and has since April 15th. It's getting really annoying having to go onto TITANTV.COM to find out what's on ESCAPE. And we don't get LAFF on COX Cable. It should've been simple. LAFF should've been on Channel 801 and COX should've created Channel 802 for ESCAPE. Now they need to create Channel 802 for LAFF.

Don't totally blame big bad Comcast. The local station needs to re-negotiate its contract to carry each sub-channel. Channels can't just be "swapped out". There are legal contractual obligations to be met/negotiated. If Meredith and WFSB cared about its viewers, they would have made sure that the necessary steps were taken, that meetings had been held, that contracts had been signed, and that the transition was seamless for appreciative viewers.

Just glanced at the WFSB website. Pretty amateurish and 2005-ish. Not surprising that they would drop the ball.
