It's always easier to apologize than get permission...
When in doubt play dumb LOL.

My wife always asks why we are out of "409" all the time. (Great cleaner of nicotine)
The upside here at Casa Radio is the ability to put the Old time radio shows on the air. The daughters have been listening to Nero Wolfe, Fibber McGee and Jack Benny shows nightly on my homebrew AM 1000kc part 15 transmitter for over 15 years.. Sounds great with the Optimod AM.

My part 15 AM/FM stations are a service tradition here in my country neighborhood. Even the neighbors tune in for NOAA weather during storms or when I patch the Skywarn scanner audio to the FM on 92.9. 99.9 is also a backup. I use Continental and BE exciters into leaky dummy loads for the FM services... Since we are in no-mans land commercial TV and radio tend to ignore us. Since all of the former McKinney/Sherman stations were poached into Dallas we are left hanging as far as radio goes. The last "Local" was KLAK which is now a Plano wanna be V/T property catering to Plano south.

Too bad there is no chance for a LPFM allocation here in far north Collin County.
We would have a ball. Been looking at the "dream proposal" regarding LPAM. That would be a hoot. I'd fire up the old LPB 5 watt on 790kc and let it rip. Topband LPAM would even be better but again no chance so far....

Congrats to you for living the dream!!! I'd love to do the same myself. You are an inspiration to us all.

Love Fibber McGee and Molly. I used to make reference to something being like "Fibber McGee's closet" and my wife had no idea what
I was talking about. :) Where in far north Collin County is your station? (roughly) I love to try to catch those things on my radio when I'm driving around.

10 miles north of McKinney west of 75 between Celina and Anna...country.
They do not cover far as I have various licenses I cherish LOL.

I have been collecting OTR for years. I've almost every Jack Benny and Fibber in existence (500 plus shows each on various hard drives). I collect Gunsmoke, CBSRMT, and many more. The smallest collection is Nero Wolfe of which I have 25 of 25 surviving shows. The 26th episode is considered "lost" by collectors. The show ended production shortly before the death of Sydney Greenstreet who played Nero Wolfe to perfection on the series...

OTR fans owe a debt of gratitude to some long ago individual employed by S.C. Johnson who apparently saved every client copy transcription disc in a vault at Racine headquarters for the amount of shows available today. Fibber and Molly shows I'm missing are from the PET Milk and Reynolds Aluminum sponsorship years.

I'd love to find a source for original analog copies of these shows, but the only versions I've found are at the Smithsonian and they are real pricey...
But even the low-fi MP3 stuff is good enough for 70 plus year old shows.

Sorry for the Hi-Jack...

A great source for Old Time Radio shows is http://www.otrcat.com/ I think they even have some Nero Wolf episodes. As far as I can tell the guy who does this is not in it for the money. His prices are dirt cheap...

Yes, and his turn-around time is excellent as well.

I recently posted new pictures of the interior of the DuMont Telecruiser. There is still a lot to do, but there are actual images on the monitors. On the program monitor, you will see actual images shot by the DuMont cameras as they covered the funeral of J.D. Tippit. He was the Dallas Police officer who was murdered by Lee Oswald. The video was courtesy of my friends at WFAA-TV. Take a look at www.telecruiser.com
