Dusty Radio 1390 Aircheck

Long lost and beloved by its fans (like me) but certainly not forgotten, here is an aircheck of WGCI-AM as Dusty Radio 1390 sometime in the early to mid-90s. I actually have quite a few more airchecks of Dusty Radio 1390 (which I think switched to Gospel in 1996) which I will try to edit and post in the future.

Does anyone know the year that 1390 switched to Urban Oldies "Dusty Radio" and then several years later to Gospel? I have an aircheck of 1390 I will post in the near future a few days after the switch to Gospel it is from late December or early January of a certain year. I do think it was the mid-90s. The Wikipedia for WGRB says it was around 2000, for some reason, I think it was earlier than this.

It was 1998 or 1999. For a time, they ran the late Richard Pegue's "The Best Music Of Your Life" at a weekend overnight shift after the switch to Gospel.

Thanks for the info. I actually remember Richard Pegue on 1390 much earlier than the Dusty Radio days. I think I have vague memories of Richard Pegue on Saturday nights as well as UIC basketball (I think) on 1390 in the mid to late 80s, occasionally I could pick up the station at night in Madison, WI.
