DVR - Cox Cable Vs. DirecTV

I have COX Cable. Last week I was going through the program guide and saw MTV was going to be airing the movie Titanic at 6AM on Friday May 1st. I pushed the button to set the DVR to record it. Today I'm going though the list of shows set to record and it says I'm recording Catfish TV Show at 6AM on Friday May 1st. on MTV. I go through the guide and see now Titanic is listed for 10AM Friday May 1st on MTV. I cancel the recording of Catfish. (I've seen just about every episode).

Now back when I had DirecTV if a situation arose where a network changed the time a show I was scheduled to record to a different time slot the DVR automatically updated the recording time.

Why isn't the COX DVR smart enough to do the same thing as the DirecTV DVR?

P.S. I decided not to DVR Titanic in its new 10AM time slot on Friday on MTV. I'm going to wait til it airs in May on CBS. That way it won't be horribly edited and full of extra commercials.
