Three New England radio stations said "sayonara" today (Friday, 10/01) according to FCC records: DWPRX-AM in Bristol, CT; DWQTQ-FM in Harford, CT; and DWNMH-FM at the Northfield/Mount Hermon school in Massachusetts.

It's been discussed elsewhere that this is probably some kind of FCC mixup. 1120 WPRX has been confirmed to still be on the air.

Yes, I saw that at w9wi.com; but if you go to fcc.gov, and enter WPRX, you get nada.

Deleted, meanwhile I guess some radio Di$ney stations like 550 in Prov and 1550 in Hartford area
are temp. off

Was in southern NH recently and Radio Di$ney was coming in on 1260 in Boston and also on
both 1550/Hartford and adjacent 1560/NYC (late afternoon)

Enter "DWPRX" or "DWNMH" or "DWQTQ" and all the data's there. Stations that are really deleted disappear from the database. Those in "FCC purgatory" get the D in front of the call until they've been resolved.

WQTQ already has requested and been granted STA to remain on the air, and it has filed the missing renewal app it should have filed back in 2005, explaining that it was overlooked in the Hartford school bureaucracy.

It's not exactly "much ado about nothing," but it's hardly unprecedented, either, and with the exception of WNMH (which has been silent for quite some time) I have little doubt that all these stations will be back in licensed status fairly soon, give or take a "voluntary payment" to the Treasury to settle the matter of late renewal filing and unauthorized operation.

All three stations were deleted for failing to renew the license.

WPRX and WQTQ will probably return to licensed status.

WNMH, OTOH, is probably gone for good. (Last time I looked, the antenna and tower are gone from the building on campus.)
