DX, Great Catches today.

I don't know if anyone cares, but I was picking up a lot of stations from Florence and Myrtle Beach this morning. I also picked up some from Columbia that I can't usually catch.

Yeah...big time "ducting" going on lately. I hear locals being hammered from stations 100s or thousands of miles out! It's that time of year. The Class As, and LPFMs get pounded!

This morning, I was picking up Savannah, Charleston, Augusta, Florence, Columbia. The Triad stations were coming in pretty clear too, but that's really no big deal.

It is roaring today! 3-4 stations appearing on each frequency. It's that time of year!
Hams? You might check 6 Meters too.

I got some great catches this morning. Two stations on 104.1 and neither was WTQR. Too bad radio is so homogenized now, half the fun of dxing is getting the local flavor of other cities.

Yesterday, [in Fayetteville], the converter box picked up all the Wilmington and Myrtle Beach digital tv stations, which it never did before.
They aren't there today though [dang]. :)

It was forecast to be a good dx day today especially east of Charlotte, but I got nothing. I don't think will have the right conditions again for a couple of months.

I was piking up what I thought was Kicks 101.5 out of Atlanta that morning.

I was also picking up an AC/Classic Hits on 93.9 but couldn't identify it. Any ideas?

OK, I just looked up 93.9 on radio-locater.com. Based on the format and everyone picking up lower Georgia stations, I bet I found WMTM out of Moultrie, GA (near Albany).

What Myrtle Beach stations where you getting? Can you guys get Mix 97.7 on DX, or would Power 98 on 97.9 make Dxing that station impossible... I bet Wave 104 is an easy DX catch.. Ive heard it near Columbia... Also,, ive picked up Kiss 95.1 near Knoxville TN on a mountain top of 7000 feet, so I dont know if that counts as DX?

WTAM 1100AM out of Cleveland comes in great just about every night. I believe I've heard some sports talk out of Baltimore once and awhile too.

I live in Indiana, so WTAM is a solid signal day and night here,,, its no wonder it makes a straight south path to the Mountains.

I am curious... You spoke of WTAM up in Ohio. Can you also receive WBT (1110) out of Charlotte from the Cleveland area on west? I know WBT is strong into New England, but their signal is directional north & south so wasn't sure how well it does up toward the lakes region and going west.

I will give it a try tonight,,, I havent had much luck DXing stations from the Appalachian area and farther south, though I get east and west DX, and sometimes FM DX from Texas and Florida,, I will check it out after night fall tonight,,, I will have to null out WTAM Cleveland and KMOX Saint Louis....... I do get 1140 from Richmond VA very well at night, so its possible.

It's that time of year again. I've been getting stations from Savannah and Augusta the past two mornings. I got to here far away morning show hosts like John Boy & Billy and Bob & Sheri. Also, I heard Spanish on 102.3, 105.3, and 106.1. :D
