DX on Webcasts. . .

I figured that all streams were run directly from the studio, and as such, wouldn't be affected by tropo or skip. Apparently not.

WXHT will be a part of my early-morning DX check now, certainly, but does anyone else know of other streams that are fed by antenna and could provide catches? Is there a way to tell the difference between an antenna feed and a direct stream by listening?

The station was going on and off for transmitter work and you could hear full radio static and another station faintly in the background.

It's fed from a radio in Princeton, NJ. I've heard WARM 103.3 and WESR 103.3 on that stream when WPRB signs off. Usually, there's interference from 103.5 KTU and its IBOC hash.

If the stream is high quality, you can probably tell if its being fed off the air if you can detect the 19 kHz stereo pilot.<P ID="signature">______________
