When posting your DX results for the day, it might be helpful for others who might want to help you ID your catch if you post in a log format. Something like Time received, Frequency, Calls (if heard), program matter including commercials and or phone numbers - area codes are very important.

Just a thought as I am a member of a DX mailing list and we do it that way.<P ID="signature">______________

Also your location.

Area codes are definitely a big plus! If you know an area code, you can almost always pin a DX catch. Believe me, it is HARD to confirm a phone number without an area code, but it can be done with lots of patience.

Another tip that has helped me out is to get to know one areas radio dial. For example, if 91.5 WBEZ Chicago is making it in at my house in Coldwater, MI, I know to try the other Chicago stations that I know about. If the tropo is strong enough, even the suburban signals will come in as well as Milwaukee stations.

An awesome website that helps me confirm several of my DX catches is stoneage.yes.com.. Not every city is on this site, but if I hear a piece of a song, but the station fades before I can get a positive ID, I usually go here.

Here is how I normally do my logs

Market name
TV
Call channel Affiliate

FM
Calls Frequeny Slogan or affiliate

I rarely post my AM log on here

But normally I group the TV and radio stations by market if possible
If I have trouble identifyng a station I normally put the slogan or an area code
so if someone knows they can tell me Oh that was this station out of whatever city.
Hope that this helps
