dxing in full effect

i was riding around franklin,Bellingham mass when my radio stopped on 102.1 now i figured it was rock 102 Springfield but not it was wlkg Miami Florida, this was around 500pm it came in like a local especially near my home in franklin, they played a good mix of music i didnt wanna get out of the car!!

Today's E Skip opening was one of the best I've seen to Florida. I logged a few stations down there for the first time, which isn't that common for someone like myself that's been DXing for 10 years or so. Among the stations that I was able to get in HD for the first time were 101.5 and 105.1 in Miami, due to the Providence stations currently having it turned off. I was also able to get the WHYI call letters to come up in HD on 100.7 over WZLX for a brief time. Not a bad way to start off the season!

my openings werent as strong as yours i couldn't get hd but ful stero i also got 103.1 barely because of the iboc from 103.3 and of course i got 96.3 weei or whatever its called like a local which i never get, and wblm overall a good start

It's working both ways today... Heard 95.1 WXTK out of West Yarmouth, MA today in Ocala, FL. Lasted about a minute or so. Heard a bit of the Sox game-- this was just after 7:00. I was very sad to hear it go!!

A mere one minute at that distance sounds more like e-skip than trops. Trops openings usually last for many minutes or even hours, don't they? Of course, at that spectacular distance... I wonder what a mixture of crude oil and salt water does to ground conductivity and how ground conductivity affects VHF DX, if at all :D

Yup it was e-skip....a very good first 1-2 weeks of the 2010 season.

I live in south FL....saw many new Canadian TV stations since analog here went byebye. CBOT 4 Ottawa was rich in spots!

So good to see stations that never came in here before.
